Zue Beauty Exfoliating Facial Scrub and Daily Facial Moisturizer Review

If you’ve been following this blog for some time, you’ll know that I’ve been trying to reduce my overall skincare consumption this year. Resisting those tempting new skincare launches were hard at first, but I soon discovered that decluttering and using up the skincare products that I already own was more satisfying than buying new products that I didn’t really need. Which is why I was pleasantly surprised when Zue Beauty reached out to me to try out some of their skincare products. As someone that takes pride in supporting ethical companies, I was excited to learn more about Zue Beauty and what stood out to me most was how Zue Beauty allows their customers to be directly involved in their Give Back program. For every Zue Beauty purchase, you get to have a say in where your hard-earned dollars go by entering the Give Back code that is on the back of every product. Their causes range from planting trees at the Mesenia Paramillo Natural Reserve to funding new school supplies and clothing for children in need. EVOLVh Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Screen Shot 2017-04-15 at 8.04.22 AM

Over the years, I’ve tried countless green beauty haircare products and it’s been a struggle to find haircare products that I really love. I had originally heard about EVOLVh a few years ago when I first heard about Petit Vour, but for some reason I had never tried their shampoo and conditioner. I think at the time, the most popular natural haircare brands were Rahua and Yarok and there weren’t very many bloggers talking about EVOLVh. However, now there are much more green beauty haircare options like Innersense Beauty (another brand I recommend) and Siam Seas (this is on my wishlist!). While I tend to rotate my haircare products, EVOLVh has quickly become one of my favorites! If you haven’t found a natural haircare product you like, you have to check out EVOLVh.

Petit Vour x Logical Harmony September Beauty Box

I love trying out new brands and Petit Vour is perfect because they provide vegan (and cruelty-free!) sample-sized beauty products from a multitude of brands. I look forward to my beauty box every month and I just saw some pictures of this month’s box, which looks amazing. So, I can’t wait for it to arrive in the mail. I tend to get my boxes toward the end of the month, so I’ve been patiently waiting for mine to arrive.

September’s box was another collaboration with vegan beauty/lifestyle blogger Logical Harmony. The theme was Beauty & The Box. It came with four products including:

  • ELLOVI Tinted Lip Butter | $5 – This is a full-size product and the tint is made with the red root of a Mediterranean flower called alkanet. It contains just 6 ingredients: Macadamia Nut Oil, Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil, Marula Oil, Shea Butter, and Alkanet Root Extract. It’s also made in California. 🙂 I’m a huge tinted lip balm fan, so this is perfect for me! It’s moisturizing and gives you a natural hint of color.
  • LILY LOLO Mineral Eyeshadow | $12 – This is a full-size product and I got the color Miami Taupe (we all know a girl can never have too many taupes.). It is described as a smoky taupe with a slight shimmer. I love Lily Lolo’s packaging. It’s so chic and rivals other mainstream mineral eyeshadow brands.
  • YAROK Leave-in Conditioner | $13.50 – Not only does it condition and add shine to your hair, but it can also be used as a heat protectant. It is 100% Vegan, Gluten-Free, Cruelty-Free, and does not contain alcohol, parabens, or sulfates. I’ve been meaning to try Yarok for a long time since it has been raved about on many blogs. I don’t have many natural haircare products, so this is a great addition to my haircare routine.
  • ROOT SCIENCE Skincare | Full-sizes, $49-59 – Each Root Science formula was chosen based on their potency and extreme healing properties. All organic oils are cold-pressed to protect their inherent vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and unrefined properties. I received The RS Face Scrub along with instructions for morning, evening, and weekly skincare routines. It is also made in Northern California. It contains the following ingredients:

Almonds:  Contain vitamin E, which increase cellular regeneration and promotes the healing process of scars and acne.

Kaolin Clay: Enhances blood circulation to the skin while gently exfoliating and cleansing. Draws out impurities, toxins, excess oil and dirt. Aids in the healing process of acne, rosacea and sun damage.

Orange Peel: Contains a high concentration of Vitamin C, which stimulates collagen synthesis, evens skin tone and brightens complexion.

Bentonite Clay: Abundant in calcium and magnesium; critical for skin regeneration. Calms skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and clears acne blemishes and clogged pores.

Neem Leaf: Packed with anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and astringent properties. Protects against acne, soothes skin irritation, and revitalizes dull skin.

Slippery Elm Bark: Used to treat psoriasis, boils, burns and ulcers. Reduces inflammation, calms irritation, and draws toxins from the skin.

Marshmallow Root: Used to treat eczema, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, and sunburns.  Increases cell regeneration and plumps fine lines and wrinkles.

This is my third box from Petit Vour and I have been very happy with my subscription so far. If you have any other vegan/natural beauty box subscriptions suggestions, please let me know in the comments!
