March Makeup Favorites

After all the subscription boxes from the past year, it’s taken me awhile to find products that I really love. I’ve a huge fan of multi-purpose products, especially when it’s makeup that simultaneously functions as skincare. Below is a list of my current makeup favorites:

The Fall Favorites Tag

I just saw l’amour et la musique‘s The Fall Favorites Tag video and thought it would be fun to do the tag on my blog. Fall is probably my favorite time of the year because I just love fall fashion like wearing cable-knit sweaters, warm coats, cute jackets, soft scarves, and boots. I like layering when it comes to putting my outfit together and even though I live in California, I always struggle to find summer appropriate clothes in my closet whenever the temperature rises. We’re actually still having random heat waves in October, which I am not thrilled about. I think I’ve probably accumulated a lot of winter clothing from living in New York and London, so as soon as the weather cools down, I can finally get some use out of them. 🙂

My Top Repurchased Items

When it comes to green beauty products, I love trying new products as much as the next beauty blogger but when I find products that I love enough to repurchase, I know that I’ve found something special. The products pictured above are products that I have repurchased the most for either myself or my family in the past year.

As you guys know, I’m a huge fan of RMS Beauty. I love the simplicity of the ingredient lists and how each product isn’t just makeup, but also doubles as skincare. I’m also always on the go, so I like how each product can be applied with or without a brush (just remember to use clean fingers only!).  I purchased a cream eyeshadow in Magnetic (a silvery taupe with hints of mauve) and a poppy red lip2cheek in Beloved. Beloved was actually already on sale for $26, so with my $10 off coupon, I knew I had to jump on it! I have tried a sample of Magnetic from SpiritBeautyLounge in the past and I just love how easy it is to use. It’s great for everyday looks when you can’t be fussed with trying to figure out what to wear. It also works well for layering with other eyeshadows. When it comes to lip products, I’m usually more of a tinted lip balm kind of person, but the lip2cheek products make it easy to experiment with color. I don’t really own any reds in my collection, so I’m excited to test this one out.

RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in Modest Review

What can I say about RMS Beauty? I just want every piece of the collection and I love the glass packaging! I recently purchased a Lip2Cheek in Modest, which is described as a “fresh, rich berry pink color.” It’s very pigmented and creamy to the touch. It blends easily and because it’s so pigmented, I use very little at a time. You can always add more to build color, but I find that one swipe for each cheek provides enough pigment that I rarely have to go back for more. I mostly use this as a cream blush, but it also works well on the lips. However, if you do eat or drink afterward, you may need to reapply. In addition, it works best as a lip color when your lips are properly moisturized. So, all you need is a little lip balm and you’re good to go!

Ingredients: *Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, *Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), *Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, *Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, *Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, *Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Tocopherol (non-GMO), Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) seed Oil, Propolis Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, *Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, and may contain: [+/-Titanium Dioxide CI 77891, Iron Oxide CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, Mica CI 77019]

According to RMS Beauty’s website:

Apply sparingly with fingers or brush. Repeat application for a more intense color on lips or cheeks. For more shimmer or a slightly softer color, apply the living luminizer over any lip2cheek color.

For best results on particularly dry lips, apply a light layer of the lip & skin balm before the lip2cheek. This product can also be used as an eye shadow but may not be suitable for all skin types as they will cause creasing in most cases due to the moisturizing oils.

Please note: The pigments are very concentrated so a little goes a long way.

{Swatch of Modest}

The Lip2Cheek colors in Smile and Promise are next on my green beauty wishlist. I’ve actually tried a sample of Smile from Spirit Beauty Lounge and I loved it as well!

What’s In My Makeup Bag – February Edition

makeup bag

I know it’s been awhile, but I just wanted to share with you which makeup products I’ve been using the most this month. For my face, I usually use my 100% Pure Tinted Moisturizer (in White Peach) to even out my complexion. I got a sample of the Juice Beauty Stem Cellular Repair CC Cream and while I generally like the product, I don’t know if provides better coverage than a regular tinted moisturizer, so I’m not sure if I would repurchase a full size quite yet. I also still use my RMS Beauty Un-Cover Up in #22 as a concealer along with the RMS Beauty Living Luminizer as a highlighter. Afterwards, I use my Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing Powder to set everything and reduce shine.

Then, for some added color, I use Ecco Bella’s Flower Color Blush in Coral Rose on the apples of my cheeks. I recently purchased some products for Silk Naturals and I got one of their vegan lipsticks in Negligee, which is a nice nude pink color. I love that it’s very pigmented and moisturizing. Best of all, it was under $6! Silk Naturals has the best natural products for those on a budget. You can find pretty much every beauty product you need on their website and it won’t put a big dent in your wallet. I’ll probably being doing a post about Silk Naturals soon, so keep an eye out for it.

Lastly, I bought a sample of 100% Pure’s Fruit Pigmented Mascara (in black) and it definitely makes my lashes longer and more defined. However, I don’t really wear mascara or eyeshadow every day, so I’m still testing it out. It seems to last all day without any smudges and it is easy to remove with coconut oil.

What are your current favorite natural beauty products? Have you tried any of Silk Naturals’ products? What is your favorite natural mascara?
